Position Summary
The Sales Engineer is responsible for providing high-level designs of indoor RF coverage solutions to support the sales process, and for representing the Engineering team to clients.
This role reports to the Sales Manager in the Revenue department, and works closely with Delivery — Engineering.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design RF coverage solutions for in-building locations (Malls, Underground, Stores, public avenue, etc.)
- Participate in meetings with clients and potential clients, to represent the expertise of the Linkwave Engineering team, explain technical matters, gather project requirements, and to support the Linkwave Sales team
- Review RFP documents, highlight relevant technical details for the Engineering team, summarize implications for the Sales team, and run RFIs
- Write Scopes of Work (SOWs)
- RFP and bid execution: draft precise technical responses for RFPs/RFIs, including network topology diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Service Level Agreement (SLA) specifications
- Assist in the preparation of client documents and presentations
- Provide pre-sales support and demos
- Architect and deliver robust technical solutions to resolve client challenges
- Deployment hand-off: serve as the technical bridge between client teams and post-sales delivery engineers to ensure flawless implementation
- Other technical tasks as required by the Sales and Engineering teams

Skills, Qualifications and Track Record
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a diploma in an Engineering Technologist program, or equivalent
- P.Eng certification is a strong asset
- iBwave training or experience
- DAS system training or certification for any of the DAS OEM platforms, for example ADRF, BTI, SOLiD, or CommScope
- Training or certification for CDMA, GSM, UMTS, LTE, 5G, and P25 is an asset
- Sales or Sales Engineering experience is an asset
- Remains a champion of continuous education on OEM platform advancements
- Fundamental understanding of the physics behind RF wave propagation theory
- Ability to apply logarithmic RF math concepts to perform power link budget calculations, and to compare different products via their technical specifications
- Ability to use basic office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook/Email, and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent customer interface skills with a strong teamwork focus
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills

- Possession of a valid G class driver's license in good standing
